What audio file formats are available?

We can generate DTMF audio clips for these audio file formats:

Sun/NeXt Audio (.au) mono 8bit ulaw encoded at 8000 samples per second
Microsoft RIFF (.wav) mono 16bit PCM encoded at 8000, 16000, and 44100 samples per second
GSM 06.10 Lossy Speech Compression at 8000 samples per second

How can I get the DTMF into my favourite format?

There are many sound conversion utilities on the web, many of them are free. For instance, for unix (Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris), there is sox.

If you need to convert the DTMF sound clips, I suggest you start with the highest possible sampling rate. You can always downsample later on.
