General Questions
What are "abbreviations" and why should I care?
Abbreviated matches allow "1" to be used in place of "one"
or "won", "2" instead of "to", etc, depending on your
language of choice, of course. This is a big help for
phone numbers containg 1's and 0's, because on many phone
key pads, these numbers not mapped to any letters, and that
makes it impossible to find matches for words that contain
a 1 or 0. With abbrevations, however, you have a much
better chance of finding something, even if the match may
seem a little obscure.
I want to compare more than 4 prefixes.
You can do is this way: initially, compare the first four
prefixes. Then, keep the best one and compare it with the
next three and so on until you are done.
